Kali Linux 1.0.5 released with improved Software Defined Radio support
The Kali development team released an upgraded version of Kali, 1.0.5. I’ve been using Kali since its first release. The best thing about Kali Linux is that it’s now based on Debian (with stability in mind) and is much more stable than the previous BackTrack. Kali Linux has been upgraded to version 1.0.5. You can see the full blog about SDR on needsec and the official Kali Linux blog post.
Note: Kali Linux 1.0.5 is a very old version. The current version is much newer (2024.x). This post is kept for historical reference. For current installation instructions, visit kali.org.
You can upgrade by typing:
root@kali:~# apt-get update
root@kali:~# apt-get dist-upgrade
